St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church

lambFr. Darwin Flores

Father Darwin Alberto Flores Madriz, was born in Caracas Venezuela on August 31 of 1975. I am the third child of seven, of Carlos Flores and Blanca Madriz(+). My siblings are Carlos (+), Oscar, Carla, Carolina, Danny and Yulian. And a proud uncle of his nephews.

My childhood was spent in Caracas and at the age of 17, we moved to the city of Maracay. Here I met God, began to follow Him, and fell in love with God. When I was still very young, I began to be a Catholic missionary within the Diocese of Maracay and was quickly taking the Word of God to other states of Venezuela.

On September 27, 1998, I entered the Major Seminary Mary Mother of the Church of Maracay. On August 4, 2007, I was ordained a priest. After being ordained as a priest, on January 17, 2009, the Bishop of Maracay appointed me pastor of a beautiful town called Barbacoas on the periphery of the State, where I lived happily for six years. Because of my missionary spirit and in an act of generosity, the Bishop of Maracay sent me to the Diocese of Rockford on July 17, 2015. I arrived in the beautiful city of Aurora at the parish of Sacred Heart, with Monsignor Vallejo and on April 5, 2016, I was appointed by Bishop David Malloy as coordinator of the Hispanic Ministry of the DeKalb deanery. Since June 2021 I serve as the Parochial Administrator of St. Therese of Jesus in Aurora, IL.
